Mrs. Emeline Allen d. in Pleasant Grove, Minn. May 21, 1907 aged 75 yrs. 8 mo. 17 ds.
Miss Emeline Louise Bradish born at Rutland, Vt. Sept. 4, 1831. At an early age she united with the Congregational Church and has always lived the life of a faithful Christian. She was married at Rutland, Vt. to George Franklin Allen, Nov. 29, 1849. To them were born 4 children: Emily L. Frye of Sparta, Wis.; Frank G. of Minneapolis; Harry J. of Pleasant Grove; Benjamin C. of Fairmont.
These and her husband, two brothers, one sister, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren mourn her passing. At the beginning of the civil war, Mr. Allen took command of a company and he was joined in the spring of 1863 by Mrs. Allen and for a number of months she lived with him in a tented field. While she spent most of her time caring for the sick and wounded, and many of the boys in blue had reason to bless her sweet face and willing hands. In the spring of 1864 she moved with her husband to Pleasant Grove and has resided there until her death.
