D. Scott Boyd is summoned. Well known Olmsted County Farmer Released From Suffering After Long Illness.
Darius Scott Boyd, a well known Olmsted County farmer, passed away shortly before midnight Monday, after an illness which lasted since last fall. Death was to do a complication of diseases. Mr. Boyd was born Aug. 26, 1848 in Lafayette, NY. He would have been 67 years of age had he lived until August next. At the age of 18, Mr. Boyd moved to Wisconsin and in 1893 he came west and settled near Douglas, where he has lived ever since.
He is survived by his wife who was Miss Susan Phelps, whom he married in 1874. There are six children, Earl, Rochester; Ellis, Pine Island; Edwin, at home; Ernest at home; Irwin Dodge Center; and Mrs. WM Madison, Rochester. There is one sister, Mrs. Harriet Whipple, Spencer, WI.
The funeral services are to be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the house. Burial will be in Pleasant Prairie Cemetery.
