Mary McAlister

OBITUARY

Mary Eleanor McAlister was born March 9, 1879 at Pleasant Grove Township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Brown. They resided at Cummingsville until 1905, when they moved to Pleasant Grove, where they made their home until 1907. They then moved to Chatfield and in 1915 to Stewartville. They returned to Pleasant Grovein 1932 and in 1942 came to Austin, making their home at 201 Herzog.

Mrs. McAlister died at 2:20 p.m. Nov. 20, 1952 at St. Olaf Hospital after being in ill health the past five years. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday Nov.24 at Pleasant Grove, Rev. H.H. Kooy officiating. Interment was at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with the Worlein Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McAlister is survived by her husband; six children, Charles, Rufus, Arthur, Neva (Mrs. David Stevens), Guy and Eleanor (Mrs. Lloyd Erickson); 24 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Walter Brown, Stewartville; Wesley Brown, Winona; and George Brown, Austin.

Out of town persons attending the funeral were: Wesley P. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Brown, Winona; Walter Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse McAlister, Stewartville; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Benjamin, St. Paul.
